Ophthalmologist job profile
We’re looking for an all-round ophthalmologist with broad practical experience and the ability to help shape the development of the department. The job requires someone able to contribute across a broad spectrum of polyclinical and operational duties, and would suit an ambitious team player. The position is based at two separate hospital locations. As an ophthalmologist you will not only be closely involved in delivering patient care, but will also eventually play an active part in the Medical Staff Association.

What we’re looking for
An ambitious young ophthalmologist prepared to learn Dutch and to work in a team of other ophthalmologists in a well-equipped hospital. [One colleague is Hungarian]. Applicants should be prepared to fill any skills gaps in a structured learning environment.

What we're offering
We’re offering a three-year contract. As a salaried ophthalmologist you will be paid a gross salary of around €70,000 (potentially rising to around €130,000) for a 45-hour week, as per the Netherlands’ collective labour agreement for medical specialists. Tax benefits for foreign employees in the Netherlands mean that net salaries can be generous. Legalines can assist at every stage, including with registrations and accommodation. The successful applicant will have the option to remain based independently as a specialist at the hospital beyond the three-year contract, at which point gross annual remuneration may rise to €150,000 - €250,000.
